A quick and easy video recipe for blueberry mojito – a twist on the classic cocktail.

Blueberry mojito- a quick and easy cocktail recipe, perfect for summer entertaining

It’s the weekend, and I have a cocktail recipe for you. A Blueberry Mojito recipe. I have posted about it earlier (about 5 years back), but that one was from a Mojito mix. Today I want to share the from scratch version.

I love a good mojito. Pina coladas and mojitos are generally my drink of choice. If not that then I like vodka, with a little orange juice, dash of sprite, some green chilli, lemon and salt- my version of a screwdriver. But mostly my poison is a Mojito. I find them refreshing. I tried this blueberry mojito for the first time when I was in Morenci and had my Friday coffee group over for brunch. It was a hit. Even my friend who isnt big on mint, liked it. This is the perfect summer cocktail- blueberries, mint, lemon- its got it all. And it’s super easy.

I also make these blueberry mint ice cubes, that are this pretty color and add so much fun to the cocktail. They take ten seconds to put together, and take the presentation up a notch.

This is the second video, my friend, Anubhav , helped me shoot. You can check the first one – panna cotta with roasted peaches and toasted oat crumble here. Hope you like our effort, let me know what you think in the comments.

Here’s the video and the recipe. Hope you get to try these blueberry mojitos. Have a happy weekend!

Blueberry Mojito (Video Recipe)

Prep time
Total time

A quick and easy summer cocktail- twist on the classic mojito.
Serves: serves 1
Ingredients
  • 10 fresh mint leaves
  • ½ lime, cut into wedges
  • 1-2 tbsp mint syrup, or to taste (can use simple syrup too)
  • 1 cup ice cubes (I use blueberry mint ice cubes, recipe follows)
  • 60 ml white rum
  • 1 cup club soda
  • 40 gms blueberries (or a handful)
Blueberry-mint ice cubes
  • 2-3 blueberries
  • small sprig mint leaf
Instructions
  1. Place the mint leaves, blueberries and 1 lime wedge in a tall glass. Use a muddler to crush the mint and lime to release the mint oils and lime juice.
  2. Add 2 more lime wedges and syrup, and muddle again to release the lime juice.
  3. Do not strain the mixture. Fill the glass almost to the top with ice.
  4. Pour the rum over the ice, and fill the glass with the soda.
  5. Stir, taste and add more syrup if desired.
  6. Garnish with remaining lime wedge and mint leaves.
For the ice cubes:
  1. Add 2-3 bluberries in each cavity of the ice cube tray. You can also add in some chopped up mint, or a sprig of mint leaf. Fill with water and freeze. Use in your blueberry mojito.

    Hi Shumaila,
Absolutely love your blog! My comment has been a long time coming, I’ve tried at least a dozen of your recipes and have enjoyed preparing and eating each one of them 🙂 p.s. For this mojito, can I replace blueberries with strawberries?

    • Hi Aditi, thank you so much for letting me know! I haven’t tried it with strawberries, but I don’t see why it wouldn’t work. Let me know how it goes! Cheers 🙂
