Basil and Parmesan Spelt Bread
 
 
Spelt Bread with basil and parmesan.
Serves: 1 loaf
Ingredients
  • 2.5 cups spelt flour
  • 1 cup all purpose flour
  • 1¼ to 1½ cups water
  • 3 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 tbsp honey/molasses
  • 1 packet instant yeast ( I used red star premium)
  • bunch of basil leaves
  • 1 tbsp garlic powder (optional)
  • 2-3 tbsp parmesan cheese, grated
Instructions
  1. In a bowl of a stand mixer mix all the ingredients and mix on low for 4-5 minutes or till you feel its smooth and stretchy. Grease a 9 by 5 inch loaf pan and shape dough to oblong and place in the pan. Let rise to double for an hour or so.
  2. Preheat oven to 350 F and bake for 35-40 minutes.
  3. Let cool for 5 minutes in pan. Remove from pan and let cool on wire rack completely before slicing it.
